On April 27, 2024, as part of the Global Anti-Vivisection World Protest being coordinated by TAVA, we will share the story of two beagle dogs* bred and used in labs in an imagined world where Canada would have changed its policies to allow drug approvals without animals, as the US does now. and where animal research is being replaced with progressive, non-animal methods as in the EU.

Signs and leaflets will be supplied. No logos please!

*The latest data shows that more than 10,000 dogs alone were used in experimentation in Canada in 2022, and this only includes the facilities overseen by the CCAC. Private laboratories and breeders/importers are not compelled to report their numbers.

Note: Beagle dogs in particular are bred for use in experimentation as their gentle, docile nature and intelligence make them easy to work with – even intentionally paralyzed, mutilated or forced to inhale toxic chemicals, to the end they will struggle to approach their torturers and lick the hands that have hurt them so horrifically.

If you have a beagle and would like to bring them along, they would be a wonderful, poignant addition to this event.
