HAVE YOU WITNESSED CRUELTY TO ANIMALS IN A LABORATORY? Please speak out – whistleblowers are protected by law! We are pleased to introduce Animal Justice’s new hotline for whistleblower tips.
From Animal Justice:
Do you have firsthand knowledge of animal abuse, neglect or suffering in a Canadian medical/laboratory facility or farm? If so, we want to hear from you.
Tips from whistleblowers can expose hidden cruelty, spark investigations, and lead to permanent change for animals—especially when backed up by evidence like photos, videos, or internal documents.
We currently accept tips by email only. To help you safely speak out, we recommend using a secure, personal email account on a private device—not a work computer or network. Your identity will be protected to the best of our ability and you can remain anonymous if you choose.
If you see illegal animal abuse, contact law enforcement immediately.

Please include as much detail as you can. Helpful information includes:
- What happened—especially details regarding the animals, their experience, and the procedures used.
- Dates and locations of the incidents.
- Names of people, institutions or companies involved.
- Any supporting videos, photos, documents or emails you are able to provide.
We also welcome tips about animal mistreatment in other settings—like farms, breeding facilities, or anywhere animals are used and suffer.
While we are unable to respond to every message, we read and review all credible tips carefully. If we need more information, we’ll be in touch.
While we deeply appreciate your commitment to animals, examples of tips we are unable to investigate include:
- Rumours or speculation without evidence.
- Concerns that have been previously reported or are already public knowledge.
- Tips with too little detail to investigate.
- Reports about lost pets, wildlife, or general animal welfare unrelated to systemic animal exploitation.

- Animal Justice does not possess law enforcement powers.
- Animal Justice is not a law firm and can’t offer legal advice.
