Remembering Animals in Labs on Earth Day & Bringing in World Week for Animals in Labs
In honour of Earth Day, we are sharing the executive summary of a report from Progressive Non-Animal Research Society of BC on a little considered aspect of biomedical research on animals: the environmental impacts and biohazard risk involved.
The full report, due to be released soon, covers these problems mainly as they relate to Vancouver’s new St. Paul’s Hospital and Health Care Campus.
The button below will bring you to the executive summary and the page where the full report is also due to be published.
Also, did you know that Monday, April 24th, is World Day for Animals in Laboratories? It kicks of World Week for Animals in Laboratories.
We will be sending out a note each day about an action you can take to mark the week and are kicking things off with a walk scheduled for Earth Day, Saturday, April 22, 2023.
Come join us for the Anti-Vivisection World Protest Vancouver on April 22, 2023 for a walk from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm starting at Burrard and Davie. The walk will take place rain or shine and is being coordinated with events happening around the world!
ADAV will be providing signs, so please don’t bring your own. Lol! We ask everyone to wear black non-branded attire.
Following the walk, if weather permits, ADAV is teaming up with TV Outreach, screening footage, plus providing information and petitions related to animals in research from about 1-3 pm.
Hope you can come!
