In memory of Aurora and her daughter Qila
Supporters of ADAV and STOP UBC Animal Research send our love and respects to Aurora and her daughter Qila who have passed away at the Vancouver Aquarium.
Qila died about 2 weeks ago, and it has just been announced that Aurora has also passed. The Aquarium says Aurora was surrounded by people who loved her… Yet she should have been surrounded by other whales – in the wild where she belonged.
The Aquarium has other belugas out on loan to other facilities – Let’s work at stopping them from bringing any whales to the Vancouver Public Aquarium, for entertainment under the guise of research. Please register to be an ‘advisor’ on the City of Vancouver page – Talk Vancouver area (http://vancouver.ca/your-government/public-consultation.aspx) and send you comments on this issue. Thank you!
Captivity is a shorter life – not a quality life! #emptythetanks
