Update: There’s Still Time to Save Monkeys

Below is an update from Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine regarding the monkeys that were to be shipped back to the experimentation industry from the U.S. It’s not too late to make a difference. Keep the calls coming! You can email too!

Update: The monkeys have not been shipped back to Cambodia! They are being held in Houston, awaiting their fate. Thanks to your phone calls, the FWS phone number continues to crash.

Please keep the pressure on FWS by emailing Bridget Fahey at bridget_fahey@fws.govto demand the monkeys are released to sanctuary. Then leave a message with the FWS Office of External Affairs at 202-208-6541 asking them to do the same. Thank you for taking action!

We’ve learned that notorious monkey trafficker Charles River Laboratories intends to truck about 1,000 endangered, illegally-imported long-tailed macaques from Houston to Dulles Airport in Washington, D.C., Tuesday morning where they will be put on the next flight back to Cambodia to be returned to the smuggling pipeline for the experimentation industry—apparently with the blessing of U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) and the Department of Justice (DOJ).

We need your help to stop this travesty and instead send those monkeys to an appropriate sanctuary.

Please take action tonight:

Call Bridget Fahey (FWS) at 703-358-2163 to urge that these monkeys be sent to a sanctuary. Thank you for taking action.
